The Junior Theme is a very important part of students' junior year offering career-based research for Recommended and Accelerated classes and literary-based research for Advanced Placement classes. The Theme is a lengthy project that will encompass approximately six weeks of work in Ms. Radloff's and Mrs. Talerico's classes.
English 3 AP students complete the research and Author Magazine during the first semester. English 3 Recommended and Accelerated students complete the research and paper during the second semester.
Computer knowledge is a plus. All papers will be typed and saved to a floppy disk. Paper format will follow MLA (Modern Language Association) style. All papers will be checked for plagiarism on www.turnitin.com.
A specific supply list for the project will be provided by the English 3 teachers. Generally, supplies include:
- 100 3"x5" note cards
- an accordion folder
- clear tape
- legal pads
- at least one floppy disk
Students who do not complete the Junior Theme will repeat English 3.
For more information regarding the Junior Theme, please contact Brenda Radloff or Laci Talerico.
