Cooper High Advisory Teams (C.H.A.T.) were developed to help students make the transition from junior high to high school. High school staff members serve as C.H.A.T. advisors who keep the same students in their groups from the time students enter high school until they graduate.
C.H.A.T. groups meet once every six-weeks to study the Six Pillars of Character:
- responsibility
- caring
- citizenship
- respect
- fairness
- trustworthiness
The Six Pillars of Character curriculum is based on the nation-wide Character Counts!® program, and Cooper High School has participated in the program for eight years.
